'Honour Killing' in UP; boy killed, girl missing

Muzaffarnagar, May 8: In a fresh incident of a probable honour killing case, a youngster has been found brutally murdered and the girl he eloped with has been reportedl missing.

The mutilated body of Ajit Saini, a BBA student, was found in New Mandi area on Friday, May 8. The police said that Ajit's throat was slit and his legs cut off. The body of the boy has been sent for post-mortem.

The deceased, who was in his early twenties, is suspected to have been killed by the family of the girl, who he eloped with two months ago.

The girl has been identified as Anshu Tomar. She has been reported missing. The police are led to belive that even she was killed but her body has not been recovered.


On the complaint filed by the boy's family, the police arrested girl's father Narendra Tomar and brother Anuj, SP (city) Rajiv Malhotra informed on Saturday, May 8.

Ajit and Anshu had reportedly eloped two months ago. But on assurances from their families that they would be married, the young couple returned home on Apr 19.
