Saptkranti Express coach derails, tragedy averted

Barabanki, May 5: A sleeper coach of Saptkranti Express derailed here in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 5 morning.

The mishap disrupted rail traffic on the Delhi-Bihar route for several hours. However, a tragedy was averted due to the alert driver, informed official sources.

"A sleeper coach of Saptkranti Express coming from Delhi derailed near Safedabad railway station around 1 am," official sources are quoted as saying in media reports.

On initial investigation, officials suspect that a rail fracture caused the derailment.
