World record set for largest gathering of pirates
London, May 4(ANI): A mass get together of more than 1,700 people dressed as pirates in one place has set a new Guinness World Record.
1,722 men, women and children formed a part of the crowd, wearing eye patches and fake wooden legs. They assembled on a port side in Brixham, Devon, to set the world record.
This number breaks the previous record of 1,651, set in Portland in America in September last year.
"We feel wonderful. We have broken the world record.
"I am thrilled the town has beaten the record by 250. Everywhere you went there were pirates." The Telegraph quoted Karen Barnes, a spokesman for the Brixham pirates.
According to a spokesman for Guinness World Records, the record would be verified in the coming weeks. (ANI)
