Mumbai, May 3: Railway officers have informed that the hunger strike undertaken by the motormen of both Central and Western railway will not affect the routes and that the trains will run as per schedule.

The railway officials have assured that the trains on both the routes were running as per schedule.

"Trains on the central line are running on time. We have made alternate arrangements also with the help of BEST," Central Railway PRO AK Jain told a news agency.

"We are continuously monitoring the situation and are informing passengers about the same. As of now the services are on time," Western railway PRO C David is quoted as saying.

The motormen are observing hunger strike to press for their demands of pay rise and hike in allowances.
