26/11: Kasab held guilty, two Indians acquitted

Mumbai, May 3: The lone surviving terrorist of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Ajmal Kasab has been held guilty on all charges.

As per the latest inputs, the Special Court Judge M L Tahaliyani has pronounced Kasab guilty on all 86 charges including murder and waging war against India.

However, in an unexpected development, the two Indian co-accused Fahim Ansari and Sabahuddin Ahmed have been acquitted for lack of evidence.

Ansari and Sabhuddin were accused of helping the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) carry out the attack by providing the terrorists maps of the targets.

The acquittal of the two Indians may be due to the name of Pakistani American terrorist David Coleman Headley cropping up in the recent past. Headley, who was arrested and is currently in the custody of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), earlier pleaded guilty in a Chicago court for involvement in the Nov 2008 Mumbai carnage.

The arguments on the quantum of the punishment will begin on Tuesday, May 4.
