Delhi remains under tight security

New Delhi, May 2: Delhi remained amidst tight security after security advisories of four countries warned of possible terror strikes in the capital.

Security alert was sounded in the city after the advisories issued by US, UK, Australia and now by Canada, alerted its citizen of terror attacks.

Officials said that the heavily crowded places like markets- Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk, Greater Kailash, Lajpat Nagar and Sarajini Nagar, Connaught Place which often witness heavy rush on Sundays has been placed under tight security.

Security has also been beefed up in most frequented places like shopping malls, cinema halls, markets and transport infrastructure.

“The Delhi Police is taking appropriate measures," its spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said in a news agency report.

Ploice has also requested the public to be vigilant and report immediately to the nearest police station or toll free number 1090 if they notice anythign suspicious.
