Ajmer Dargah blast: Raj ATS arrests suspect

Ajmer, Apr 30: Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a man, who allegedly had links with a Hindu militant outfit in connection with the 2007 Ajmer Dargah bomb blast, in which 3 people were killed and over 30 others were injured.

Police said that the accused Devendra Gupta will be produced in the court later in the day.

Sources said that Gupta, who hails from Bihari Ganj in Ajmer, was arrested on Wednesday, Apr 28, when he had gone to visit his sick mother.

Gupta, who allegedly have links with Hindu outfit Abhinav Bharat Sangathan, is suspected of being involved in the blast inside the Dargah of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty at Ajmer in Oct 2007, they said.

Officials are tracing his links with Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who is the prime suspect in the Malegaon blast case.

Sources said that Gupta, who is staying in Jharkhand, reached Ajmer on the day he was arrested.

They added that police were able to trace the accused with the help of SIM card recovered from the blast site.
