Rahul Gandhi visits Haryana Dalit family affected by caste violence
Mirchipur (Haryana), Apr 29 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday met a Dalit family in Haryana's Mirchipur village in Hisar District, two of whose members, including a physically challenged girl, were burnt alive during caste violence.
Rahul was accompanied by Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Prithviraj Chavan.
On April 21, 70-year-old Tara Chand and his daughter Suman, (18) were killed by members of a particular community.
Eighteen Dalit houses were also torched during the clash.
Rahul condoled the loss of lives in the violence.
He assured the family that he would take up their issue with higher officials.
He said the guilty would not be spared.
He also interacted with Dalit members in the village.(ANI)
