Emirates flight scare: DGCA completes inspection
Kochi, Apr 26: An official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) completed the inspection of the Kochi-bound Emirates flight which hit air pocket over Goa on Sunday, Apr 25.
Airport officials said that Dorairaj, assistant director of DGCA Chennai office inspected the Emirated aircraft from Dubai till 4.00 am in the morning.
The flight, carrying 361 passengers and 14 crew members experienced a sudden drop in altitude after it hit an air-pocket above Goa, leading to atleast 23 people being injured in the incident.
Both the DGCA and the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has ordered an investigation into the matter. GCAA is coordinating with the Indian civil aviation authorities.
