Phone tapping row: BJP to suspend question hour

New Delhi, Apr 25: The worst is yet from over for the UPA as the BJP announces its decision to suspend the Question Hour to discuss the phone tapping issue, media reports said.

The BJP reportedly said that the Question Hour in the House will be suspended to discuss the phone tapping controversy, which was exposed by a weekly magazine, Outlook.

BJP spokesperson, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the party would demand an Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe over the issue.

The latest controversy could threaten the smooth passage of the Finance Bill which is scheduled to be presented on Tuesday, Apr 27.

While Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has cancelled his US tour, owing to fear about the Finane Bill, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh too is likely to skip the SAARC summit in Bhutan.
