Maruti unveils Blue-Eyed Boy priced over Rs 3 lakh

New Delhi, Apr 24: India's leading four-wheeler manufacturer on Friday, Apr 24 unveiled brand new version of WagonR, powered by fuel efficient 998 cc K-series engine.

The new version of hatchback boosts of spacious interiors and has been tilted - The Blue-Eyed Boy.

"The all-new WagonR carries forward the decade-long leadership and success of the WagonR brand. The new WagonR is a full-model change in terms of superior technology, interiors, looks and styling. The new, larger platform brings in comfort and space while the superior technology of K-series engine delivers more power, greater fuel efficiency and is environment friendly. We are confident that the new WagonR will further strengthen the leadership position of Maruti Suzuki in the A2 segment," said Mr Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

The Blue-Eyed Boy complies with the new Bharat Stage IV emission norms, which came into effect on Apr 1, 2010 pushing several cars out of the market including the company's famous Maruti 800.

The new WagonR, which joins the Maruti Suzuki range of five vehicles in the ever-growing A2 segment, will be produced from the company's Gurgaon facility.

The company has fixed an introductory price of Rs 3.28 to 3.81 lakh for the new entrant into the rather crowded A2 segment.
