Chidambaram is not heading IPL probe: PMO official

New Delhi, Apr 23: Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has denied reports that the Manmohan Singh has asked Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to lead the Indian Premier League (IPL) probe.

“There is no truth in the story as reported that the Prime Minister has asked the Home Minister to head the IPL probe," PMO spokesman told a news agency in response to the information carried by media reports.

The IPL came under the government's scanner over the alleged financial irregularities in connection with the money-rich cricket series.
