Maoist held with arms and ammunition in Orissa
Rayagada, Apr 22: In what could be termed as prize catch for the police, a dreaded Maoist, who has been involved in several attacks was held with arms and ammunition in Orissa's Rayagada district, police said on Thrusday, Apr 22.
35-year-old Laba Kimbaka of Kanarhi village, 150 km from Rayagada was arrested by a joint team of CRPF and Orissa armed police from the Muniguda-Telengapada forest on Wednesday, Apr 21.
Superintendent of police Anup Krishna said that along with two crude bombs, two detonators and some landmines, documents, literature, hand-written posters and letters were recovered from him at the time of arrest.
Krishna said the arrested Naxal was involved in many Maoists attacks.
Police said that beside running camps inside the forest of the naxal-infested district, he was also training new cadres and local tribals.
