Sharad Yadav seeks central financial assistance for Bihar's cyclone affected
New Delhi, Apr 20 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav called on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Tuesday and appealed for maximum financial assistance for cyclone affected people in Bihar.
Yadav told Dr Singh that over 90 people had died in the districts of Katihar, Araria, Purnia, Soupal and Kishanganj, and added that 25 blocks and 355 panchayats were affected in Katihar, Araria and Purnia.
He also said that approximately 1,00,000 houses had been damaged by the cyclone.
Dr Singh assured Yadav that he would look into the matter. (ANI)
