B'lore blasts: NIA visits explosion sites

Bangalore, Apr 20: National Investigation Team (NIA), probing the Apr 17 twin blasts, visited the explosion site outside the Chinnaswamy stadium on Tuesday, Apr 20, police said.

The six member team, which arrived on Apr 20, visited the stadium and inspected the blasts site including the areas from where the explosive materials were recovered, police said.

They said that the NIA met the police officials probing the blasts and exchanged information on the suspected terrorist outfits who could be behind the attacks.

On Monday, Apr 19, a Pune police team, investigating the German Bakery blast case, arrived in the city to search for clues on the twin blasts and also to share information with the city police officials.

Two low intensity blasts went off near the stadium on Apr 17, ahead of an IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. 15 people were injured in the blasts.

Third bomb was recovered by the police when the match was going on.

Police recovered two more bombs on Sunday, Apr 18, which eventually led to the venue of the IPL finals and semi-finals being shifted to Mumbai.
