Shoaib Malik moves HC to get his passport back

Hyderabad, Apr 16: Even after his marriage with Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza, Shoaib Malik is yet to receive his passport, which was impounded by the police during the investigation into the cheating case filed against the Pakistani cricketer by his first wife Ayesha Siddiqui.

Shoaib has reportedly move the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking a direction to the Hyderabad police to return his passport.

Shoaib told Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy that the issue between him and his first wife has been resolved amicably.

After the cricketer signed the divorce papers, Ayesha had also agreed to withdraw the cases she filed against Shoaib Malik. Inspite of this, the police have not released the passport. Holding back the passport any further is unnecessary, he said.

Besides this, the cricketer has arranged a grand reception to celebrate his marriage with Sania Mirza in Lahore. The 'walima' is set to take place on Apr 22.

He also told the court that he wishes to go to his home town Sialkot soon.

The High court on Friday, Apr 16 adjourned the case to Monday, Apr 19.
