Man get 80 yrs imprisonment for killing son

Detroit, Apr 16: A man has been sentenced to 37 to 80 years imprisonment for killing his 15-year-old son, who had confessed to molesting a minor in Detroit.

On Nov 16, 37-year-old Jamar Pinkney Sr shot his son, Jamar Pinkney Jr, to death after he confessed to molesting a 3-year-old girl.

According to eyewitnesses, the accused forced his son to strip and took him to an empty lot, where he shot him in the head.

Pinkney Sr was convicted for the murder on Apr 1 in Wayne County.

Defence attorney Corbett Edge O'Meara said that Pinkney Sr will not be eligible for parole until 2046.

Citing disappointment at the verdict, O'Meara said that the verdict is likely to be appealed by Pinkney Sr.

In his argument, O'Meara said that accused had killed his son in a fit of rage after the victim confessed to his act.
