Budget session resumes on tumultuous note

New Delhi, Apr 15: As expected the Budget Session of the Parliament resumed on a tumultuous note with the Opposition parties cornering the Congress-led UPA over the issue of internal security.

The uproar over the Dantewada Maoist massacre led to the parliament to be adjourned till 12 noon on the very first day of the second phase of Budget session. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is expected to make a statement at 1 pm.

Over the past few days, UPA has come under attack from the Left and the Right over growing Maoist violence and Thoroor-IPL Kochi Controversy.

The Parliament session resumed on Thursday, Apr 15 after a month long recess.

Now, the government's strength will be tested as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Left Front are expected to gang up against the Congress. Amid all the unrest the government also hopes to bring up the Women's Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha.
