Don't speak on internal security: PM to Ministers
New Delhi, Apr 12: Stressing that the Home Minister is competent and capable of handling queries, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked all the ministers to not comment on matters regarding internal security.
The Prime Minister's order comes in the wake of the slew of statements being made by ministers such as Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and Food Processing Minister Subodh Kant Sahay regarding the Apr 6 Dantewada Maoist massacre in which 76 CRPF and police personnel were killed.
On behalf of the PM, Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrashekhar on Sunday, Apr 12 sent out a circular to all ministers informing them that the Prime Minister wants the ministers to refrain from making statements on the internal security of the country.
Dr Singh, who is currently not in the country, has advised the ministers against voicing 'different opinions' through the circular.
