Kingfisher bomb case: Man questioned kills self

Thiruvanathapuram, Apr 9: A former contractor, who was among those questioned in the Kingfisher bomb case, committed suicide at his residence at Valiyathara, police said.

According to police, the body of 25-year-old Sunil Lawrence was found hanging at his residence.

In his suicide note, Lawrence alleged that because of his interrogation and detention, he lost a job opportunity in the Middle East.

Airport officials say that he decided to kill himself because he couldn't prove his innocence.

He was employed by the same company of which a staffer, Rajasekharan Nair, was arrested and remanded on Mar 28 in connection with the case.

The explosive material was found in the cargo hold of the aircraft, which arrived here from Bangalore on Mar 21.

Lawrance, in the suicide note, also 'congratulated' police for the investigation into the crude bomb issue and said he was 'upset' over police questioning on innocent people.
