Stapled Chinese visas unacceptable: Rao
Beijing, Apr 8: Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said that India has conveyed its serious concerns to the Chinese leadership here over Beijing's issuance of stapled visas to Kashmiris.
Speaking to reporters here, Rao said, "We do not accept the stapled visas on the passports of residents from Jammu Kashmir. Our position in this regard was again made clear during the talks."
Rao further said, "India maintains that Jammu Kashmir is its integral part and there should be no discrimination between residents of the state and rest of the country."
Rao also briefed media on the talks which External Affairs Minister S M Krishna had with the Chinese leadership
"They (the Chinese side) listened attentively to what we said. We underlined the need for more sensitivity to be shown to Indian concerns in this regard," Rao added.
