JK gunbattle: One jawan killed in Kupwara district
Srinagar, Apr 8: Militants killed a jawan of Rashtriya Rifles in a gunbattle in Kupwara district of Jammu Kashmir, police said on Thursday, Apr 8.
According to police, the gunfight began on Wednesday evening, Apr 7, when joint forces surrounded the militants hiding in Zachaldara area of Rajwar forests in the district.
One jawan has been killed, a police official said adding that another was injured in the gunbattle.
"Firing is continuing. The cordon has been extended and more reinforcements have been rushed to the area," the officer added.
