Govt launches probe into Maoist massacre
New Delhi, Apr 8: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, who kept reiterating that 'something went wrong' in the Dantewada forests where 76 CRPF troopers were butchered by Maoists, has finally announced that the government has initiated an inquiry to determine what was the 'something' that went wrong on Tuesday, Apr 6.
“We have taken a decision to institute an inquiry into what went wrong," the minister said on Thursday, Apr 8.
“I maintain what I said on Wednesday that something went wrong. We have to find that out, he added while speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security.
There would be a time-frame for the inquiry, he said but remained tip lipped on what was discussed in the meeting.
