Tiwari approaches SC over paternity suit

New Delhi, Apr 7: Former Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari approached the Supreme Court challenging the dismissal of his plea to quash the paternity suit by the Delhi High Court.

The Delhi High court decided to adjudicate a paternity suit filed by Rohit Shekhar, who claimed he was his bilogical son.

Rohit Shekhar, had filed a paternity suit against Tiwari, claiming that he was the born out of an affair between Tiwari and his mother Ujjwala Sharma.

Shekhar filed a caveat in the apex court, stating that he had received information from Tiwari's counsel that that senior Congress leader is filing an appeal, challenging the High Court's order.

On Mar 17, the High Court rejected Tiwari plea for qaushing the paternity suit against him and decided to adjudicate the case filed against him by the petitioner.

The High Court is expected to take up Shekhar's petition on Wednesday, Apr 7.
