10 killed in Pune road mishap
Pune, Apr 5 (ANI): At least ten people were killed and seven other were injured in a road accident on the Pune-Satara highway here today.
The accident occurred at around 4.30 am, when the tyre of a jeep suddenly burst, causing it to overturn. Another speeding vehicle hit the jeep from the back, which then hit the wall of a new tunnel in the highway, killing all ten passengers.
The jeep was on its way to Mumbai from Satara.
"In this accident, ten people were killed and nine have been injured," said Satish Patil, police inspector, Haveli Police Station.
The injured are undergoing treatment at the Sassoon hospital in Pune. (ANI)
