Orissa: 10 SOG jawans killed in Maoist attack
Bhubaneshwar, Apr 4: At least 10 Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel were killed in a landmine blast triggered by Maoists in Koraput district of Orissa, police official said.
The SOG members were attacked in Govindpali area of Koraput district when they were going to the neighbouring district of Malkangiri.
According to police officials, 16 other personnel were also injured in the attack.
Additional forces and medical team with ambulance had been rushed to the spot, police said.
Sources said a brief exchange of fire also took place between the security personnel and the rebels near the blast site and details were awaited.
