US cooperating extensively in Headley probe: Sources
New Delhi, Apr.3 (ANI): Allaying fears that the US is not cooperating with India in the David C Headley investigations, government sources said that the United States and India are cooperating extensively in the probe, and India is hopeful of getting access to Headley soon.
They said there has been extensive cooperation in the investigations, and both sides are in touch with each other on the issue.
The United States is yet to take a decision to allow Indian officials to question Headley.Information revealed by Headley will be shared with India for their investigation into Mumbai attack, US Assistant Secretary of state for South And Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake had ecently stated
Earlier, US Ambassador to India Timothy J Roemer stated: "No decision had been taken on giving India direct access to the LeT operative."
However, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has already expressed hope that India would be able to obtain access to Headley to question him in a properly constituted judicial proceeding. (ANI)
