Ranchi, Apr. 3 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren appeared before a local court here on Saturday in connection with the 1974 Kurko murder case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge N N Singh concluded the hearing after Soren's counsel Sanjay Singh completed his argument in the case.

Singh reserved the judgement till 17th April.

It was Soren's second appearance before the court after swearing in as the chief minister of the state on 30th December.

His earlier appearance was on February 3.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Chief Soren is an accused along with some others, who had allegedly murdered Balbir Rai of Kurko village in Giridih District, for killing a goat.

The FIR, filed by Bahadur Singh, accused Soren of leading the group that allegedly killed Khirodar Singh and Chundi Singh following the slaughter of a goat while another person went missing.

Soren is accused in the double murder case, which took place at Kudko village in Giridih district on April 15, 1974 over slaughtering of a goat by a group of persons.

The FIR, which was filed by one Bahadur Singh, accused Soren of heading a group that allegedly killed Khirodar Singh and Chundi Singh following the slaughter of a goat while another person went missing.

The charge-sheet was filed in 1978 and Soren is the sole accused now since eight others were acquitted in 1986. (ANI)
