Sherpa guide set to scale Mount Everest for a record 20th time
London, Apr 2 (ANI): A veteran Sherpa guide has said that he is planning to climb Mount Everest for a record 20th time.
The Sherpa guide during his climb will also be cleaning up tons of rubbish, campaigning for Nepal's tourism industry and carrying the ashes of Edmund Hillary.
Apa said he will attempt to scale the 29,000ft summit this spring, leading an environment expedition that aims to collect and bring down 15,430lb of garbage scattered along the snowy slopes of the world's highest mountain, the Daily Express reports.
Apa will also take the ashes of Sir Edmund, who in 1953 became one of the first two climbers to conquer Everest, up to the summit.
He died in 2008 in his home country New Zealand. (ANI)
