Melbourne, April 02(ANI): Mysterious patterns described as red stars, rings of fire and white doughnuts appearing on the Bureau of Meteorology's national radar system in Australia have led to a number of false theories.

The anomalies first began on January 15 when an "iced doughnut" appeared over Kalgoorlie in WA.

Satellite imagery showed absence of cloud over the area, pointing at its unusual nature.

On January 22, a red star was spotted over Broome on January 22.

Also a sinister spiral was seen over Melbourne, which got tagged as the Ring Of Fire Fault.

The bureau has acknowledged the anomalies but refused to comment.

A disclaimer above the national loop feed explained the patterns as occurring due to "occasional interference to the radar data".

"The Bureau is currently investigating ways to reduce these interferences," News.com.au quoted the disclaimer as stating.

However, conspiracy websites have come up with dozens of theories including alien involvement, secret military testing to government weather modification.

UK electrical engineer and crop circle expert Colin Andrews said: Until (the Bureau of Meteorology) make a formal and complete response to all the various strange patterns, one can only speculate about what is taking place."

One theory claimed the anomalies suggested major weather events such as cyclones Olga and Paul and the violent storms which hit Victoria in recently. (ANI)
