Party leaders' meeting over Women's Bill on Apr 5
New Delhi, Mar 31: The meeting of leaders of political parties over the Women's Reservation Bill will be convened on Apr 5.
Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, Leader of the Lok Sabha has called for the meeting in the wake of vehement opposition over the Bill by the Yadavs - Mulayam Singh, Lalu Prasad and Sharad along with Mayawati-led BSP.
The Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Mar 9, 2010 and enjoyed the support of 186 members against 1 vote.
Earlier on Mar 30, Law Minister, M Veerappa Moily had said that the government would go ahead with the Bill in its present form in the Lok Sabha in the second phase of the Budget session, scheduled to begin on Apr 15.
