Another blast in Russia, five killed

Moscow, Mar 31: Just two days after twin blasts rocked Russia's metro stations, yet another blast has been reported from Dagestan.

The Wednesday, Mar 31 explosion took place in the turbulent North Caucasus region of Dagestan. A car filled with explosives detonated in Kizlyar town killing as many as five people and injuring scores.

According to ITAR-TASS reports, the blast took place near a school at 8.30 am (local time). Three cars parked near the blast site were also destroyed.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the blast.

This comes two days after two suicide bombings in Moscow metro stations killed as many as 39 people on Monday, Mar 29. The blasts are believed to have been triggered off by two female suicide bombers and the authorities suspect the hand of militants from the North Caucasus behind the attacks.
