Sukhna scam: SC to hear Lt Gen Prakash's appeal

New Delhi, Mar 29: The Supreme Court will hear an appeal filed by Lt Gen Avadesh Prakash in connection with the Sukhna land scam case on Monday, Mar 29.

On Feb 22, the Armed Forces Tribunal had given interim relief to Lt Gen Prakash.

The Tribunal had also granted permission to Lt Gen Prakash to cross-examine witnesses, who had earlier given statements against him in a Court of Inquiry.

Lt Gen Prakash's lawyer says that both were not present during the cross examination of the eight officers.

He also alleged that the trial was not fair as witnesses were not examined in his presence.

Lt Gen Prakash is facing court martial for giving no objection certificate to a private realtor to construct an educational institution on a 71-acre plot adjacent to Sukhna military base in Darjeeling.
