Mayawati set to rename Gandhi bastion of Amethi
Lucknow, Mar.28 (ANI): Following a Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court order to the Uttar Pradesh Government to reconsider its earlier decision to carve out a brand new district of Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar out of Rae Bareli and Sultanpur, Chief Minister Mayawati is likely to take her fight against Congress AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to a new level by renaming his parliamentary bastion Amethi.
Mayawati reportedly has to merely issue a notification to fulfill her seven-year-old ambition.
The Uttar Pradesh Government's standing counsel Devendra Upadhyay has made it clear that Mayawati's plans may well become reality through a notification under Section 11 of the Uttar Pradesh Land Revenue Act. (ANI)
