JK: Several LeT militants killed in encounters
Jammu, Mar 27: In three separate encounters, as many as nine militants were killed in Jammu Kashmir on Saturday, Mar 27.
Earlier, policemen led by Additional SP of Nowshera R K Bhat stormed the Baji Mahal forest in Dharamsal on intelligence inputs that militant were hiding in the area. Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in this encounter which took place in Rajouri district.
The gun battle began in the morning when the militants fired at the troops. The security personnel retaliated killing the two militants while reportedly capturing about four to five militants in the operations.
Two Lashkar militants were also killed in another gun battle in Kishtwar's Dool area. The two LeT militants killed in the encounter have been identified as Nisar and Rehmatullah.
There are reports that LeT commander Saifullah, who is believed to be the mastermind behind several attacks was also killed in this encounter.
The third encounter took place in Reasi and more details on this operation is awaited.
