20 killed, 55 injured in twin blasts in Baghdad
Baghdad, Mar 27: In a fresh terror attack, 20 people were killed and 55 others injured in twin blasts that rocked the town of Khales, in Diyala province north of the Iraqi capital on Friday, Mar 26, a security official said.
Official from Baquba Operations Command said that some of the injured, which include both women and children, have been to the hospital in the provincial capital of Baquba.
The blasts took place around 6:15 pm (1515 GMT) in front of a cafe and a restaurant in central Khales, around 65 kilometres northeast of Baghdad and near Diyala's provincial capital of Baquba.
The explosion rocked Baghdad just before Iraq's national election commission was getting ready to announce the full result of March 7 parliamentary election.
