Nine killed in Orissa road accident
Dhenkanal, Mar 26: At least nine people were killed and 26 others injured when a trekker in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck at Malikeswari in Dhenkanal district of Orissa.
The accident took place near Malikeswari temple when the trekker, carrying 35 persons, was on its way to Khajuria village.
Sub-divisional police officer Brahmananda Dandapat said, "The villagers had gone to watch an opera show there."
The injured were rushed to a local hospital from where ten seriously injured persons were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, he said.
