Maria to take over as Maha ATS chief
Mumbai, Mar 25: K P Raghuvanshi has been removed as the Chief of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad, sources from Maharashtra's Home Department said on Thursday, Mar 25.
According to sources Raghuvanshi will be replaced by Joint Police Commissioner (Crime Branch-Mumbai) Rakesh Maria.
Raghuvanshi has been reportedly removed in connection with his public disclosure of vital information on the arrest of two terror suspects, who were allegedly planning attacks in Mumbai.
Earlier, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan while stating that the disclosure has hampered the investigation, said that necessary action will be taken against the offenders.
On Mar 14, Maharashtra ATS arrested Abdul Latif alias Guddu (29) and Riyaz Ali alias Rehan (23), who were allegedly planning to blow up oil tanks of the state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
