Pakistan: 14 militants killed in encounter

Islamabad, Mar 24: At least 14 militants have been killed in a gunfight with security forces in northwest Pakistan's tribal area on Wednesday, Mar 24.

According to security officials, fifteen other militants were also injured during the exchange of fire in Orakzai tribal agency.

Security officials also said that they were conducting search operations in the country's restive northwest, believed to be the centre of Taliban and al Qaeda remnants.

On Tuesday, Mar 23, US drones fired two missiles at militant hideouts in North Waziristan tribal agency, killing at least six people.
