No decision made on India's access to Headley: US
New Delhi, Mar 23: The US envoy to India Timothy J Roemer has clarified that no decision has been taken on India's direct access to Mumbai terror suspect David Headley.
Roemer said in a statement on Tuesday, Mar 23, "As the Assistant Secretary indicated, the US is committed to full information sharing in our counter terror partnership."
He further said, "In this case we have provided substantial information to the Government of India and we will continue to do so. However, no decision on direct access for India to David Headley has been made."
"The US Department of Justice will work with the Government of India regarding the modalities of such cooperation," Roemer said.
On Monday, Mar 22, the Indian government had said that it will soon form a team of investigators, including officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), to question Headley.
