Tantric attempts to kill sceptic on TV
New Delhi, Mar 21: An Indian tantric made a futile attempt to kill a sceptic, who challenged him to put him to dead using mystical power.
Both the tantric known as Sharma and the challenger, Edamaruku, part-time journalist and publisher from the southern state of Kerala were invited to a talk show to undergo the entire procedure in front of the camera.
Sharma, who was a bit hesitant in the beginning, began the ritual by brandishing a knife, following which he ruffled Edamaruku's hair and then he pressed his temple.
However, even after hours after the ritual, the sceptic was unhurt and was smiling.
"He was over, finished, completely destroyed!" Edamaruku was quoted in a newspaper as saying.
The part-time journalist said that the main motive behind challenging the tantric was expose fraudulent babas and gurus.
"The immediate goal I have is to stop these fraudulent babas and gurus. I want people to make their own decisions. They should not be guided by ignorance, but by knowledge. I'd like to see a post-religious society - that would be an ideal dream, but I don't know how long it would take."
The episode which has been banned from being screened on television can be viewed on Youtube.
