Kerala: BSP workers protest cartoon on Mayawati
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 20: A Malayalam daily has invited the ire of the Bahujan samajwadi Party (BSP) for publishing a cartoon on the Mayawati cash garland controversy.
A group BSP workers carrying the party flag pelted stones on the office of newspaper 'Tejas'. They reportedly destroyed the office signboard and damaged a vehicle parked before it.
The agitators were angry that the party supremo was depicted in a 'unsavoury manner'.
The cartoon is "unbecoming of the journalistic ethics and values," they alleged.
Earlier this week, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati enraged the country by accepting two garlands made completely of currency notes, said to be worth crores.
