No declining trend in recording attendance: Home Ministry
New Delhi, Mar 18 (ANI): The Union Home Ministry on Thursday described a media report on declining attendance as 'factually not correct.'
The Home Ministry has installed a biometric attendance control system to record the attendance of employees since September 2009.
According to Home Ministry, as against an average of 1087 employees who marked their attendance in December, 2009, the figure has risen to 1173 in January 2010 and 1240 during February 2010.
In a statement the Ministry stated that the statistics does not include those who are on leave, tour, training etc.
The Home Ministry also clarified that there are "no ghost employees in the Ministry of Home Affairs."
Earlier this month, a section of the media reported that Home Ministry employees are facing some practical problems due to the biometric attendance system installed in to record attendance. he biometric attendance system monitored the hours of work an employee had put in. (ANI)
