Five ghastly child sacrifices in M'rashtra village
Aurangabad, Mar 18: Police has arrested four people, including three women, in connection with five suspected child sacrifice cases.
Five boys, aged between 4-12, were killed in a village in Hingoli district between Dec 2009 and Mar 2010.
Speaking on the case, police inspector MA Rauf told a news agency that the police made the arrests on Wednesday, Mar 17 after conducting searches at the suspects' residences during which they found some suspicious material related to the ritual of human sacrifice.
On the whole six people have been named in the murder case. They have been identified as Parshuram Dalvi, Kalvati Kundlik Mokle, her husband Kundlik Mokle, Aasha J Dalvi, Vandana Mokle and her husband Vithal Mokle.
What is more disturbing is that the police were able to nab the culprits after one of them, Vandana, tried to kill another child.
Earlier this month, Vandana tried to killed another child, Rishikesh Dalvi, at the behest of a local self-styled godman, who is absconding, Rauf informed.
Ironically, the woman, who is childless, had plans of sacrificing 11 children so that she can conceive a child of her own.
Articles such as ash, black thread, unknown poisonous substances and some herbs were recovered during the searches.
It is the poisonous substances that gave a lead to the police as Rishikesh Dalvi, the new victim, also started showing symptoms of illnesses suffered by the children killed earlier. Vandana is believed to have fed the children with some poisonous herbs before sacrificing them.
Interrogations of the accused in on.
Rauf added that the viscera of three victims, which were preserved for chemical tests, would be sent to Mumbai for further analysis.
