Mulayam's plane almost hits cyclist on runway

New Delhi, Mar 14: In an apparent security breach, the Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh had a close shave when his plane almost hit the cyclist who was on the runway, media reports said.

The incident took place when the plane was preparing to land in Etawah on Saturday, Mar 13 where Singh had gone to attend a function.

It has been said that the cyclist even followed the plane after it had landed.

The incident adds to the list of narrow escapes experienced by VIP planes in the recent past.

Earlier, in Dec 2009, President Pratibha Patil had a close shave when the rotor blades of an Indian Air Force helicopter in which she was traveling hit a shed after landing at the airport in Bhubaneswar.
