Fake currency worth millions recovered from a train in Mughalsarai
Mughalsarai (UP), Mar 13 (ANI): Police recovered fake Indian currency worth 24.8 million rupees from a train in Uttar Pradesh Mughalsarai district on Saturday. fficials also recovered two maps from the bags.
Police recovered these packets from two abandoned bags in a coach of Purushottam Express during their routine checks.
"During checks in the Purushottam Express we found two abandoned bags containing packets of 500-rupee-notes worth 24.8 million rupees...we are investigating the matter and we will take appropriate action against the accused," said Tripurari Pandey, Officer-in-Charge, Mughalsarai Railway Station.
Several cases of fake currency notes being pumped into India have been reported across the country. (ANI)
