Taliban may abduct Indian diplomats in Afghan: NSA

New Delhi, Mar 12: Amidst the security concerns over Indians in Afghanistan, National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon has said that Taliban is planning to abduct Indian diplomats, media reports said.

Considering them to be an easy target, the Taliban are mulling on en masse kidnapping of Indian diplomats.

Currently there are 4000 Indians working in different reconstructional sectors in Afghanistan.

The report came just days after Home Ministry said that it was issuing terror threat advisories to Indians living and working in Afghanistan in the wake of terror threats from Taliban.

On Mar 6, India had temporarily suspected its medical mission to Kabul after the devastating suicide blasts on Feb 26 in which 7 Indians, including two army officers were killed.
