Media asked to restrain from airing Swami sex tape

Bangalore, Mar 12: The Karnataka High Court has issued a directive asking the TV channels to restrain from airing the footage of the sex scandal video showing Swami Nithyananada in compromising position with a Tamil actress Ranjitha.

The bench comprising of V Gopala Gowda and B S Patil passed this order on a PIL filed by former BJP MLA and advocate K N Subba Reddy arguing that the clipping has obscene content which would adversely impact the minds of the viewers especially children.

With this interim order, five Kannada TV channels are expected to refrain from telecasting the sex scandal clippings.

The court also fixed Mar 17 for further hearing.
