"Wellderly" among 250 jargon words that bamboozle the UK public

London, March 11 (ANI): The Local Government Association in the UK has published a list of 250 jargon words that can bamboozle the public.

Some of the words included are "wellderly" meaning healthy elderly people, "webinars" or online presentations and "thought showers" implying brainstorming.

The Association wants the jargon, often used by EU bureaucrats, councils, spin doctors and corporate types, to be banned from the documents of the councils.

It advises checking the plain English section of the website idea.gov.uk.

"Information should be understood first time round by the public," the Daily Express quoted Chrissie Maher, founder of the Plain English Campaign, as saying. (ANI)
