US Congress to hold discussion on Lashkar's growing ambitions
Washington, Mar.11 (ANI): The US Congress would hold a discussion today (Thursday) that would focus on the increasing threat perception posed by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and explore view within the Pakistan Army regarding the banned militant group.
The discussion titled : "Bad Company: Lashkar-e-Taiba and the growing ambition of Islamist militancy in Pakistan" would also focus on LeT's links with the Al-Qaeda.
The meeting,which would be hosted by the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia, will be presided over by the subcommittee's chairman Gary Ackerman, The Dawn reports.
Ackerman is also the present chairman of the Congressional group on India and Indian Americans.
It may be noted that Ackerman was awarded the Padma Bushan, India's third highest civilian award. in 2002. (ANI)
